Phineas (Vincent Martella) and Ferb (Thomas Sangster) have vowed to make everyday of summer vacation count and their creative ideas and ingenuity know absolutely no bounds–each day begins with the brothers sitting under a shady tree asking what the other wants to do that day and the afternoons typically culminate in the boys having turned the backyard into anything from an elaborate haunted house to a tropical beach or professional racetrack. Strangely, the boys’ pet platypus Perry always seems to disappear just as the boys begin a project, but viewers know that Perry leads a secret life as Agent P who is regularly dispatched to foil the plans of evil-doer Dr. Doofenshmirtz. Somehow, Phineas and Ferb’s parents remain oblivious to everything but the boys’ shared creativity while the frustrated Candace bemoans her own bad luck in siblings and parents. A show described by kids ages 5 to 12 as “awesome,” Phineas and Ferb is the perfect blend of fantasy, creativity, adventure, and family comedy.
